Why Join the Coalition of the Free?

 

We unite to prepare for the future, so that the future does not run over us.  

 

We unite to uphold our values and defend our state from a growing authoritarian system of government. See Bright Line Watch’s monitoring of 30 indicators that point to a current threat to our democracy. We unite because history shows that when groups with common values unite, they are strong. We have seen how standing united against a threat can turn away a threat, e.g., the collective show of resistance by colleges to the Trump regime’s attack on academic freedom.

 

We unite in order to defend our freedoms, our economic security, our ability to be creative, to engage with the world, and to grow and thrive. 

 

We unite because we wish to remain citizens of a country where each person has value, where the rule of law is respected, and where we do not fear expressing our opinions publicly.

 

We unite to ensure New Mexico remains a place where politicians cannot divide us against each other based on what someone looks like or how much money they have. 

 

We unite to build a stable and prosperous future for our families. 

 

We unite to facilitate communication with other coalition members and with our own members. 

 

We unite to show solidarity with each other, across any party differences we might have. 

 

We unite to defend each other, should it become necessary, as NATO partners defend each other.

 

We unite to accomplish more than we could separately.
